| Supposidly Alex Cox is trying to sort out a Spaghetti Western festival in the Uk. His own words: " I'm trying to persuade a noted venue not unconnected to the NFT to let me curate a season of Spaghetti Westerns: not the Eastwood/Leone trilogy, but the really good stuff: Questi, Corbucci, Sollima, Petroni, Castellari" If he pulls it off I'll be the happiest person on earth. Corbucci and Sollima on the big screen! | |

| I think that would be cool, but saying that it's the not "The really good stuff" is just wrong. Leone has such a huge following, because he was just that...good. I'm not taking anything away from Corbucci or any of the others, but they should all be considered good together. | |

| I didn't say it. But it's nice to see someone straight up say that Corbucci's and Sollima's films are really good. The Mercenary, Companeros, The Great Silence, The Big Gundown can quite easily stand up to Leone's films. Unfortunately there's still a snobbery against spaghetti westerns from 99% of critics if they aren't directed by Leone. | |

But, critics are stupid. All films should be considered before saying one's so much better than the others.

| I'll just have to pray Alex Cox's UK spaghetti western fest pans out. I'd kill to see The Big Gundown and The Mercenary on the big screen. | |

He's confused. The Hellbenders above Django and TGTBATU...

Four of the Apocalypse was pretty weak once Tomas Milian leaves the film. I've got Run, Man, Run and Mannaja on the way. hopefully one of them will break in to my top 10. OUATITW would top my list. This definitely has to be seen on a big screen. I might have left DYS off my list, as it is a Zapata(like Wild Bunch) and not a true spaghetti. Not to say it isn't great, it just doesn't fit into the nihilism of the SW genre.
