| Anyone have a Top 5, 10, 20, whatever list they'd like to share? Post 'em here! | |

| Really wish I had seen enough to make a top 10! I haven't even seen enough to make a top 5. Hopefully that'll change soon. | |

I'm anxious to make one, but it's friggin' tough! Some are well made and are good films by any standard (like THE MACK), but then there's some that are not-so-well-made that are entertaining as hell (your DOLEMITE's and what have you)! Shit, I can't even decide which I like better between COFFY & FOXY! I'll try to come up with an order I'm happy with by tonight.

| I can pretty confidently give the vote to Coffy. Aside from the music, I found Coffy to be better in every way... though only slightly. Coffy would be a 4.5/5 whereas Foxy brown 4/5. | |

| I see COFFY as being slightly more realistic(?) and FOXY a bit more on the mythic or iconic side, perhaps even a bit cartoonish.
And I can appreciate both takes equally.

| Sid Haig came in to Foxy Brown far too late for my liking. Also Pam relied and teamed up with other people more in Foxy, which is the biggest difference I suppose. In Coffy she's pretty much a lone renegade fucking people up, which I enjoyed more. Coffy has cooler dialog too. | |

For maximum Grier/Haig team-up action, hit THE BIG BIRD CAGE. Sid= Django! They also co-star in BLACK MAMA/WHITE MAMA & THE BIG DOLL HOUSE, but in TBBC they're a team. COFFY has it's strengths, but nothing in it gives me a kick like FOXY's "airplane scene". FOXY has some great lines too. "You pink-ass corrupt honky judge, take your little wet noodle outta here and if you see a man anywhere send him in because I do need a MAN!" "Death is too easy for you bitch. I want you to suffah!" Fuck it. I'm calling it a tie.

| I've got a few on order, but I remember being extremely entertained by Foxy brown when I caught it on TV a while back. | |

| I'm surprised Dolomite was only #9. I admit I have to watch more of this genre. Been too emersed in the Japanese Pinky Violence stuff. | |

Most of the top 10 are interchangeable. I'm sure DOLEMITE will shoot right back up next time I watch it!

| 1- Coffy 2- Dolemite 3-Foxy Brown 4-Superfly 5-Sheba Baby 6- The Human Tornado
PS- I've heard many people call "fight for your life" a blax, but i disagree on that. However, if it is considered a blax it would be my #2, love that filthy flick
Those are the only blax I've seen. I love them all, and really need to get into more. I have the black godfather, truck turner, the mack, and black cesar.....Any other crucial flicks you all recommend for a newb?
Thanks! | |

That flick made me feel disgusting. Felt like I had to shower afterwards...tried to write a review for my website but couldn't do it. You've seen more blax than me..but Truck Turner was pretty good.
