The One and Only Pornography Appreciation Thread

Well, if you're going to have a forum devoted to exploitation flicks, you need to have some place for people to jot down their feelings about the most exploitative of them all: the porno flick.

Truth be told, I have never owned a single skin magazine. But, in my stupidly large movie collection, I have about 20 or so porno flicks. All of them are from that long-ago time when porn was shot on film with actual care put into the production. Anyone who is serious about studying the underbelly of cinema has to (at the very least) see some of the more influential pornos of the 1970s. From DEEP THROAT and BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR to THE OPENING OF MISSY BEETHOVEN and THE EDUCATION OF THE BARONESS, these films were widely seen alongside the more mainstream horror and action flicks that reside on this forum. Several were staples of the grindhouses as well as the arthouses. A few like FORCED ENTRY and TABOO deserve much more critical analysis then they get , with rather strong narratives that question not only the appeal of deviancy but also the liberation that goes along with it. The very notion that DEEP THROAT launched a nearly decade long film movement (often called 'porno chic') that attracted not only the poor and middle class filmgoers but also the older and wealthier filmgoers in hordes is rather mind-boggling. For the brief span of a few years, pornography enjoyed a level of status that horror has never enjoyed. Sexual liberation, experimentation, and expression was suddenly up on the big screen and many, many people paid their hard earned money to see it.

So discuss and enjoy.

I've seen quite a bit of Japanese pinku (the real stuff) like Watcher in the Attic etc and American staples like Deepthroat but that's pretty much it.

I've watched a lot of stuff like Taboo, Deep Throat, etc. on various sites that stream stuff for free.

Read those and realize that anything we write about the VAST majority of films on here goes against the TOS. Goddamned free fucking sites. I had to remove a picture from FTWM when I posted the EMANUELLE IN AMERICA review. I got an e-mail from an admin stating "I see visible nudity. You have 24 hours to remove that image. This is your only warning".

I want either you or Craig to check out whether or not you can access your SQL database from this site. It would be possible to transfer it to another phpbb-created forum on my host once that goes online. I'd own the domain and the space which means I could do whatever I wanted with it. PORNO-MADNESS!!!!

I just relocated the banned images to this sites hosting. All avatars that have been taken down will have to be reuploaded though. I have all important images backed up on my pc anyhow.
