| Just got this boxset... though I wouldn't have bought it if I had known it was an Elstree Hill release. It contains TNT Jackson, The Black Godfather, The Black Gestapo, The Black Six,Black Fist and Get Christie Love! The transfers are dodgy to say the least. I had assumed that due to each film having its own disc that the quality of each film would be high... I was wrong. Some of the transfers appear to be from extremely scratched negatives and others look as if they've been lifted from VCRs. Here's a screen from TNT Jackson. And one from The Black Godfather... Despite all my bitching though the box set was dirt cheap... around $22. | |

| 1. Is Get Christie Love any good?
2. Would you recommend this boxset to someone who hasn't seen much Blax?

| Not sure, haven't seen any of them yet as I just got the boxset this morning. I guess it's a good entry boxset but the quality as I said is pretty crappy. | |

Despite all my bitching though the box set was dirt cheap... around $22. Let's see... You liked PLANET TERROR & DEATH PROOF that spent who-knows-how-many $ trying to look like grindhouse flicks, but you're bitching about the real deal looking like them? You poor spoiled child, if you were to have seen them in the theater in the day, they probably wouldn't have looked any better. Probably worse. They should've charged more for authenticity! By the way, BLACK GODFATHER is OK. Haven't seen the others yet, but I want BLACK GESTAPO pretty bad. GET CHRISTIE LOVE was a TV movie. A pilot for a series, if I'm not mistaken. TNT JACKSON sounds like fun.

| Bitch ass fool. Planet Terror actually achieved the aged look rather cheaply. Plus there's a big difference between a scratched and aged print and complete lack of definition.
I'm just surprised that the Elstree only put 1 film on each disc because it seems to me like it wouldn't have made much difference if they shoved 3 movies on each.
I'm only really fussy about transfers if it's a movie by a director I really like anyway. So it isn't too bad.
I'll get some shots of The Black gestapo for you.

I'll get some shots of The Black gestapo for you. Cheap or not, they still fucked up the film on purpose. What were you expecting from 30 year old public domain titles sold cheap? You're just a spoiled mutha .

| I didn't realize they would be generic public domain transfers. I didn't even know it was Elstree who released it when I bought it, and the fact that each film had its own disc threw me off. Anyway I guess I can't talk I'm going to be aging my shorts on purpose to sort of hide the fact they're shot on digital. | |

| I'm seriously considering purchasing this set (assuming the Colonel would be kind enough to provide an Amazon link), after reading the brief bit in Sleazoid Express about Black Gestapo, which sounds tight as fuck. | |

Judging from the stills, the quality is pretty hit or miss. How much did this set cost all in all? I'd like to splash out and buy it, but at the same time I don't feel like spending what could be a substantial amount on something I could hate...ya dig?

| Ahh. That isn't too bad. I'll check back on Amazon and Play later tomorrow, when I get paid.
On a semi-related note...Is there a Pam Grier boxset available anywhere? Does one even exist?
