The Hellbenders

K, I just finished watching this. How people can say it's up there with Django, TGS and Companeros is beyond me. This film was dull, tedious, boring and overall not fun...at all.

Hellbenders = fail.

It felt like a generic american western. And, I'm sorry to say, those bore the shit outta me.

Hey some of them are awesome, but I do understand the sort of westerns you are on about. Peckinpah, Eastwood and Rio Bravo still kick ass though.

Maybe be Peckinpah and Eastwood learned a lot of their stuff through the Italians...don't know about Rio Bravo.

It's not blasphemy. The italians did it better. Much better. Except for hellbenders...that sucked.

Also the Peckinpah / Spaghetti western influence was mutual. Italian westerns were influenced by him and then in turn he was influenced by what Leone did with the genre. Much like the Roger Corman / Bava influence. They fed off of each other.

Well, the argument comes back to the Hellbenders pissing me off so bad. I had trouble finishing my review. I'm thinking a 3/10

Hmmm. I'm sure I'll like it more than that. Were you aware that it wasn't as spaghhetiish as Corbucci's other films before watching it?

As far as I'm concerned, for every American non-Eastwood directed western there's a SW that kicks it's ass.

Wouldn't argue against that, but Rio Bravo is still one of my favorites. Only problem is I don't like John Wayne.
