The Dollars Trilogy, also known as The Man with No Name Trilogy, refers to the three Spaghetti Westerns starring Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone:
A Fistful of Dollars (1964) For a Few Dollars More (1965) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) Although it was not Leone's intention, the three movies came to be considered as a trilogy following the exploits of the same "Man With No Name" (Eastwood, wearing the same clothes and acting with the same mannerisms). The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is usually considered a prequel, since Eastwood's character gradually acquires the clothing he wears in the other two films. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollars_Trilogy
A Fistful of Dollars is the first motion picture of its kind. It won't be the last!"
An anonymous, but deadly man rides into a town torn by war between two factions, the Baxters and the Rojo's. Instead of fleeing or dying, as most other would do, the man schemes to play the two sides off each other, getting rich in the bargain.
"The man with no name is back... The man in black is waiting! As if one wasn't enough . . . as if death needed a double!"
Two bounty hunters are after the same man, Indio. At first, they go their own ways, but eventually get together to try and find him. But are they after him for the same reason ?
"For Three Men The Civil War Wasn't Hell. It Was Practice!
The Good is Blondie, a wandering gunman with a strong personal sense of honor. The Bad is Angel Eyes, a sadistic hitman who always hits his mark. The Ugly is Tuco, a Mexican bandit who's always only looking out for himself. Against the backdrop of the Civil War, they search for a fortune in gold buried in a graveyard. Each knows only a portion of the gold's exact location, so for the moment they're dependent on each other. However, none are particularly inclined to share...

Fistful gets a lot of shit, but IMO might be the best of the 3. Other than budget limitations, I could never see any flaws in this film. If you watch it with OUATITW, you will see a lot of similarities between the 2 films. I think Leone really tacked a lot of unnecessary stuff on to the 2nd and 3rd films, probably because he had more money to indulge himself. The first is a very tight script.

The dollars trilogy are classics that are often imitated most recently in Last Man Standing.

Last Man Standing was extremely pretentious(par for the course for Walter Hill) and even worse than Sam Raimi's Quick and the Dead. Another waste of time was the recent 800 Bullets.
